HR - Heavy Rigid Truck Licence Training

This comprehensive training program prepares you to operate trucks or buses over 8.0 ton GVM with 3 or more axles, including articulated buses.
Eligible candidates must have held a car licence for at least 24 months and complete the Heavy Vehicle theory test with QLD Transport.
Choose from three types of HR licences:
- Condition A (Automatic),
- Condition B (Syncromesh and Automatic), and
- Non-Restricted (Non Syncromesh)

HR Licence Eligibility
To upgrade to an HR (Heavy Rigid) licence, you must have held a car licence (minimum Red Plates) for at least 24 months. Additionally, you need to complete the Heavy Vehicle theory test with QLD Transport, which can be taken on the same day as your practical driving test.
HR Licence Types:
Heavy Rigid Open - Condition A (HRA):
Automatic gearboxes only.
Heavy Rigid Open - Condition B (HRB):
Syncromesh (single clutch like a manual car) and automatic gearboxes.
Heavy Rigid Open - Non Restricted:
- Non Syncromesh (Double Clutch per gear change – Road Ranger/Crash Box).
